Frequently Asked Questions
Patch testing is a reliable and effective way to determine an irritant causing a contact allergy, or Allergic Contact Dermatitis. When a patient describes a rash that persists through standard medical treatments, the cause is often allergies. In which case, our experts will advise allergic patch testing. This diagnostic treatment involves applying patches with small amounts of presumed allergens to examine your skin's response to specific products, foods, or materials. After we’ve figured out that patch testing is right for you, we will assemble patches customized to you. When the outcomes have been examined, you will have information on items to avoid and items you can safely use.
What Is Allergic Patch Testing?
Also known as Mohs micrographic surgery, Mohs surgery is a skin cancer treatment that utilizes a microscopic lens to view the layers of tissue underneath a malignant lesion. This innovative approach permits the surgeon to get rid of only as much tissue as is needed to eliminate the cancerous cells, therefore limiting damage to the skin. At Kessel Dermatology, we have an advanced tissue processing lab. Our on-site lab permits us to offer our clients this cutting-edge, tissue-sparing procedure for quick and efficient removal of skin cancers in fragile locations.
